The 'Dasheri' mango is a mango cultivar which originated in a villa near Kakori in Lucknow district in the 18th century. It is a sweet and fragrant variety of mango grown in North India and the southern state of Andhra Pradesh and Nepal.
Dasheri mangoes are long and oval-shaped, with a light green or yellow-green skin when mature, becoming golden yellow when ripe. Dasheri mangoes have fibreless and peach-colored flesh with a medium-sized stone. The flavor is very sweet and aromatic.
Dasheri mangoes are considered “table” mangoes, meaning they are most often eaten fresh, out of hand. Dasheri Mango is an irresistibly sweet, mouth-watering treat.
